Mandi’s musings

When I started this trip I had no idea what to expect. As I end this trip I cannot describe how I feel.  The Filipino people of Cebu and Bohol were kind,  endearing, and warm. We faced various conditions,  some days inside and some partially outside (covered by a roof). The people were very grateful for the care, some where even brought to tears when the doctors prayed for them. The children played with each other in the grass and with each other,  some of the poorest children had a game of volley ball & basketball going (not one ever with an electronic).  One day as they were playing, Jessy asked to take a few girls pictures,  when she showed it to them they just giggled and screamed with joy.   Many don’t have functioning toilets or stoves or refrigerators (amongst other things), but they are content and grateful for us coming.  I think  this trip affected everyone in some way or another.  I personally am grateful for such an opportunity, to meet these kind kind people.

Philippians 4:11-13 Not that I am speaking of being in need,  for I have learned in whatever situation I am in to be content.  I know how to be brought low,  and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.  I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
